Ghosthunting Michigan hits stores (and cyberstores) tomorrow!
I didn't get the opportunity go thank all of the people who helped me as part of the book (i.e., there isn't an official dedication in the pages of Ghosthunting Mi). But that doesn't mean I don't want to say a whole bunch of Thank Yous!
First and foremost, I'm grateful to my husband, my daughter, my friends, and my family for their love and support. A great big thank you also to John Katchuba, series editor for giving me the job--and lots of great advice along the way! Hopefully someday we'll get to meet in person instead of just through emails ;-)
I met a LOT of wonderful people during my adventures across Michigan. But I wouldn't have gotten very far if it weren't for the amazing folks at the Welcome Center in the UP! My GPS died just as I was crossing the bridge. I had print outs as back up, but that state map helped a ton! So did finding a great place to stay: I spent two nights at the Tall Pines Motel. I was so homesick and so miserable and made to feel so welcome by the owner (whose name I never did catch) and his dog!
Everywhere I stopped, I met wonderful people, but I'm especially thankful to Laura at the Calumet Theatre for agreeing to see me on very short notice and giving me the grand tour. I'd also like to thank Mimi and Philip at Inn Time Cafe in Richmond for their time and generous hospitality, Mike at Boomer's Tavern, and Beth at Whitefish Point for not only showing me around but introducing me to the Motor City Ghost Hunters who just happened to be pulling out as I was pulling in. And of course a huge thank you to John and Cass and the rest of their crew for talking to me and for just being amazing people!
When I was writing up my experiences at the Blue Pelican, I came across some amazing You Tube videos by young videographer and paranormal investigator Cruce Grammatico, who was kind enough to give me his insight on the Blue Pelican.
And really, there are way too many people to name them all--although a huge thank you to the wonderful folks at the Baldwin Theatre....AND the nice ladies up at the Iroquois Point Lighthouse. I never got to hear about their ghosts, but they helped me find my keys!! (Nothing scarier than losing the keys to a rental car on the beach....)
And speaking of rental cars, the nice folks at my local Enterprise were amazing. Thanks guys!
Happy haunting!
Helen
